I remember as a child I was in awe of how some celebrities were always gorgeously dressed to perfection. I definitely have my most favorite dressed celebrities from every era. As long as you look around, fashion and style inspiration can be derived everywhere. Especially from cinema, for me it’s not the runway but the big screens that immortalize fashion and style in every possible way. I’ve grown up watching movies like Titanic, Devil wears Prada, Runaway Bride from the west and our very own DDLJ, Rangeela, Dil Toh Pagal hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai being some of the most iconic ones that has inspired me in terms of style.
Don’t we all love seeing celebrities draped in beautiful couture creations! It’s amazing how we try to associate with some of the ensembles. After all it’s always nice to put some thought into your outfits, every once in a while. I am sure just like me most of you at times would like to stop the screen and shop the screen. We are lucky to be in a time where it’s kind of effortless to recreate our most loved appearances from the big screen. What if “the magic, ecstasy and surrealism of movies are shipped in a way we have been dreaming all our lives”?
Now their wardrobe can be yours, “Bollywoo” a brand and a market place that allows fans, movie enthusiasts and fashion forward youth to “feel like a star” by making apparels, accessories and locations used or worn in the films available for purchase. In other words, the brand provides the physical experience of watching a movie and shopping through the motion picture.
Some sartorial choices are worth experimenting and risk taking. Thanks to Bollywoo, I got an opportunity to style myself in an outfit worn by none other than one of India’s leading Indian film actress, Priyanka Chopra. I tried to recreate her look from the movie “Dil Dhadakne Do”. The fit and feel of the outfit was exactly how I wanted. This experience was completely satisfying. So you see it was not that difficult. Still don’t believe, try it yourself!
Style Tip for the Day: Recreating outfit may require some additional work on your part. Although you would like to look a replica of the star, I suggest you add your own charm to it. Never show you have been trying too hard to look identical, rather make people sit and notice how you made it appear dissimilar 🙂
So lovelies until my next blog, it’s time to say adios.
